Lazard CEO with nightmare travel schedule follows sweaty Blackstone president

Bankers & financiers especially spend a lot of time on flights. Some people swear by home made concoctions – egg yolks and kale and that sort of thing – others by stoicism – and others yet by sweating it out. Presumably it also helps with the nerves if you’re being held up by French customs officials who were curious about why you had spent less than a day in the country, as happened to Lazard CEO (and former Obama administration staffer) Peter Orszag.
“I have always found running to be a great way to fight jet lag and let my mind sift through the problems of the day,” Orszag said on social media. To help sift the sands, Orszag said he's taking a leaf out of the travel habits of Jon Gray, president and COO of Blackstone.
Gray also travels a lot. In the last 3 months he's been to San Francisco, Tokyo and Sydney. Wherever he goes, he goes for a run and posts a video of himself looking sweaty and talking about some of the local landmarks and his schedule for the day. In recent videos, Gray is mostly in the US, talking about the great quality of his recent lunch companions and Blackstone's portfolio companies.
“I’m in Chicago,” he pants in one video. “I would just say, great day ahead, we’re going to see some of our companies.” His breathing gets significantly worse throughout the video. “I feel like I’m dogging it in this video,” he admits, “but it inspires me to be in Chicago.”
Orszag isn't quite so forthcoming with the videos, choosing a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower to commemorate his run there. "As is clear from the photo, I’m in Paris today," as though there was the slightest semblance of doubt.
