Nomura is thought to be hiring ANZ's senior escapees in Singapore

Things are afoot in Singapore. As we reported last month, there have been more senior departures from ANZ. And as we reported this month, there have also been senior exits from Nomura.

Now that Chinese New Year is over, there are suggestions that the two things may be linked.

Neither Nomura nor the individuals concerned are commenting, but the suggestions are strong that Anshu Sidher, the former global head of markets at ANZ is joining Nomura. Herr-Ling Yeo, ANZ's former head of Global FX and commodities, is thought to be going too.

Nomura has a gap that Yeo could fill. Hoe Lon Leng, its head of FX and flow rates trading resigned two weeks ago. It's not clear where he's going next.

Some of ANZ's people have not chosen Nomura, though. Ed Gibson, a G4 rates trader at the bank has just arrived as head of USD rates for the Asia Pacific region at Wells Fargo.

Nomura's rates business underperformed last year. It's also lost various people in London, including Kilian Frensch, Kunal Parekh, Gian Ameri William Johnson, Quinn Borley and Ruchelle Beltia. More exits are feared after the Japanese bank announces bonuses. If Yeo and Sidher arrive, they could restock the business with other macro escapees from ANZ.
