A Goldman Sachs MD found her way home to Morgan Stanley

If you work for Goldman Sachs in New York City and you leave for a corporate development job at a crypto infrastructure firm in Miami, then you need not stay in Miami-crypto world forever. There is a way back.

Victoria Hegan, a Durham University graduate who spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs in London and New York, left for a Miami-based role at Fireblocks, a digital asset and stablecoin infrastructure firm, in 2022.

Hegan spent 15 months in Miami before returning to New York banking. Around eight months later, she joined Deutsche Bank in 2024, and was the head of DB investment solutions and commodities distribution for the Americas at the German bank.

Now, though, Hegan has resumed her place in the US top tier. Having officially left Deutsche Bank in late September according to her FINRA registration, she has now joined Morgan Stanley in New York as head of institutional structured derivative sales for the Americas.

Morgan Stanley declined to comment.

It is a happy ending to the kind of career diversion into crypto corporate development that was popular a few years ago. In 2021, Fireblocks said it was the most well-funded crypto infrastructure provider in the industry. There have been suggestions that it will pursue an IPO but this has not occurred yet.
