Data Business Analyst (Insurance Finance) Key Responsibilities

Partner with Finance, Actuarial, and business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document data and reporting requirements.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, data mappings, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Analyse and validate data flows across insurance, finance, reporting, and downstream systems.
Support data migration, reconciliation, data quality, testing, UAT, and regulatory reporting initiatives.
Collaborate with technology teams and business users to ensure successful delivery and process improvements.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data BA, or Finance BA within insurance or financial services.
Strong knowledge of insurance finance processes, including reporting, reconciliation, IFRS, accounting, premiums, claims, commissions, and policy data.
Hands-on experience in data analysis, data mapping, data validation, source-to-target mapping, and issue investigation.
Experience working with insurance platforms, finance systems, data warehouses, and enterprise data initiatives.
Proven experience in Agile environments, including JIRA, user story creation, backlog refinement, UAT support, and Scrum ceremonies.
Strong stakeholder management skills, working with Finance, Actuarial, Compliance, Business, and Technology teams.

Preferred Skills

SQL and data analysis capabilities.
Experience in finance transformation, IFRS 17, data migration, or system modernisation projects.
Exposure to regional insurance environments and enterprise data platforms.
Agile, Scrum, CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or related certifications are advantageous.
