Goldman Sachs hired a top female health-tech banker from a boutique
This year's MD promotion class at Goldman Sachs may have been on the weaker side for women, but top female bankers are still getting opportunities. For its latest healthcare banking MD, the bank has opted to hire externally instead from boutique bank Guggenheim.

Jennie Xue, formerly a senior MD for medical devices investment banking at Guggenheim, is now joining Goldman Sachs in New York as an MD. A memo from the bank seen by eFinancialCareers said Xue will be working in the bank's cross markets group on medical technology banking. FINRA's BrokerCheck tools shows that her last day at Guggenheim was last Friday after 10 and a half years with the bank, six of which were as an MD.
Xue isn't the only recent departure from Guggenheim in 2026. Evercore announced last week that it hired Chris Macios, another senior MD within Guggenheim's middle market financial sponsors coverage group.
Guggenheim Securities brought some big names in M&A during the latter half of last year that may compensate for its exits. It hired aerospace and defence banker Michael Richter from Lazard in September and industrials banker Steve 'Elvis' Edelman in November.
