Head of securities financing departs Jefferies

Securities financing has been one of the most active areas to watch over the last six months as a number of firms have either doubled down or deemphasized the potentially lucrative yet capital-intensive business. The end result has been a host of recent senior-level departures and arrivals. The latest exec to move on is Nick Rankin, the former managing director and head of global securities finance at Jefferies in New York. Rankin departed in April, but not for another bank. He’s now a managing partner at Camber Road, a lease financing firm for equipment, software and services.

Rankin spent more than three years at Jefferies, where he managed a team of 30 with global equities, according to LinkedIn. He spent nearly 15 years at Bank of America, where he was eventually elevated to managing director and the head of prime brokerage risk. Rankin had previously managed Delta One sales and trading at BofA. Jefferies declined to comment on his departure.
